The phrase "Officer Down" or "Shots Fired" are the two most dreaded phrases any Officer, Deputy, or Dispatcher ever wishes to hear transmitted by a fellow co-worker.
When these words are spoken, countless individuals who carry a badge and sidearm run toward the danger. Dispatchers summons help as they are the "First" first Responders.
Sadly, when an officer is sidelined due to an on duty injury, occupational illness, PTSD, or even after retirement many who wore the badge face life altering diseases and illnesses soon after retirement.
1076 Ministry was founded by Law Enforcement Officers and their families in an effort to address the feeling of "Being Left Behind" by those who we once trusted with our own lives.

1076 ministries Captain of Fishing Ministry, a former Jail Administrator for the Pittsylvania County Sheriffs Office where he rose to the rank of Captain. James went on to serve with Blue Ridge Regional Jail Authority where he concluded his career with the Franklin County Sheriffs Office upon his retirement.

Ricky Darrell Moorefield, 48, of Hurt, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, June 25, 2015. Ricky was former Chief of Police with the Hurt Police Department, a former member of the Hurt Volunteer Fire Department; former instructor with the Department of Fire Programs, former member of the Air National Guard Unit #203 Civil Engineering Squad called the "Red Horse" and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving in Desert Storm.
